'The promise' is a sculpture made of a forged and welded steel; two couples perched on an I-beam making a promise to each other. It is part of a limited edition series of 10 pieces in this style.
I love to use the industrial and repurposed I-beam for this series. Forged and welded metal is treated with a coat of Penetrol under heat, then layered with a bronze paste to show off the texture. Finally it is coated with a satin enamel clear coat, before being mounted on a spalted maple wood base.
It is designed for indoor display. Each sculpture is stamped with a series number (of 10) and signed.
