"Swinging Joy" depicts the joy of a child being swung by their parents.
This sculpture is a part of my I-Beam Connections series - a repurposing of an industrial steel stock part. This series is about exploring our emotions and connections to others.
The figures are made of forged and welded steel, then treated with a coat of Penetrol under heat. The sculpture is then layered with a bronze paste to show off the texture. Finally it is coated with a satin enamel clear coat, before being mounted on a spalted maple wood base.
"Swinging for Joy" is designed for indoor display. Each sculpture is stamped with a series number (of 10) and signed.
