Sculpture inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus, who flew too close to the sun. His wings, made of feathers and wax, melted with the heat.
The sculpture of Icarus is hand-forged bronze work. The feathers are made of hand-hammered brass, and the sun is made of stainless steel and gilded in gold leaf (24K). The mount is made of sustainably sourced, but unique, hard wood, with a base made of fabricated and patined mild steel.
Suitable for indoor use.
